Customer Gallery! Showroom Visitors!

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

Hi Everyone!

This Sunday we had several visitors to our showroom and I managed to get a few shots in between our busy day!

Along with these shots J.Z. and L.O. visited us with a handsome SDGr Minoru and lovely DD girl, but I was unable to get photos of them :( Send us photos please!

T.F. visited with her cute little Chika, Emily! How sassy!

They are twin School Head A boys. Aren’t they dashing?

Thank you to everyone who came to visit us on Sunday! Please bring your Volks dolls to meet us, too!

Customer Gallery ~ M.B.’s Kuon!

Monday, November 29th, 2010

Hi, everyone!

Happy Cyber Monday! Have you found any good deals online today?

This past weekend, we had the privilege of being visited by several of our regular customers who we always love to see — on Saturday, Bailey posted a Customer Gallery from one of them, C.S., and today I have one from M.B.!

Kuon, M.B.’s Yo-SD Ayumu, is shown taking advantage of our lovely pirate-themed photo space for … bunny murder? Uh-oh!

En garde!

En garde!

Here’s a brief message from M.B.:
Hello! Here’s a picture I took in your photo space November 27th. My doll is an Ayumu, and his name is Kuon. (Yes, he’s in a dress. It’s a very cute dress!) His stuffed bunny is named Food. :)

It is indeed a very cute dress, and Kuon looks adorable in it — I do hope poor Food is okay, though!

Do you also think Kuon is adorable? Well, you’re in luck! Re-releases of Yo-SDs Ayumu and Tanpopo (the girl version of Ayumu — same head sculpt!) are included in the upcoming Dolpa 24 Limited Items — this is a great chance to welcome home your very own bunny killer adorable boy or girl! ^o^ And for all of you lucky people out there who already own Ayumu or Tanpopo, please feel free to send in your pictures for the Customer Gallery — we’d love to see more of these cuties!

As always, if you own a Volks doll and would like to submit pictures for the Customer Gallery, please visit this entry to read the rules, then send your best photos to service@volksusa.com!

SWS pre-order shipment has landed!

Sunday, November 28th, 2010

Hello, there!

It’s the last day of Thanksgiving weekend — better get out there and enjoy it before everyone has to go back to work tomorrow! =^_^=

The Zoukei-mura Concept Note for SWS No. 1 "Shinden"!

The Zoukei-mura Concept Note for SWS No. 1 "Shinden"!

For all of our patiently waiting SWS fans, your wait is almost over — I’m happy to say that the shipment carrying all of our SWS pre-order items, namely the Ta 152, the Kettenkrad, and the Shinden Concept Note (pictured above), has finally arrived at Volks USA! On Monday, we will begin preparing these items for shipment to everyone who pre-ordered, so please look forward to your items arriving soon! We will be working as fast as we can to get everything out as quickly as possible, but the number of kits that arrived is quite massive (the warehouse is absolutely packed with boxes!), so we ask for your understanding and continued patience.

Also, a quick note for everyone who pre-ordered the Shinden Concept Note — if you were concerned about the possible amount of English content vs. Japanese, worry no more! With the exception of four pages (out of a total 112 pages) at the very back of the book, absolutely everything has been translated into English. It’s a veritable treasure trove of Shinden information, modeling tips and tricks, and finished Shinden photos; I wholeheartedly believe that everyone who pre-ordered will be quite pleased with it.

Finally, to whet your appetite, here are some links to reviews written by our UK collaborator Scale Plastic & Rail:
SP&R Review: Zoukei-mura Super Wing Series No. 2 – Focke-Wulf Ta 152H-1
SP&R Review: Zoukei-mura Super Weapon Series No. 1 – Sd.Kfz.2 Kettenkrad
SP&R Review: Zoukei-mura Concept Note – SWS No. 1 “Shinden”

Happy reading, everyone — thank you for waiting, it won’t be too much longer now!

Adventures in Alterations! Customize Your SD Outfits!

Friday, November 26th, 2010

     Happy Day After Thanksgiving! :D

Maybe you’ve already noticed but we’ve added several blouses to the La Parsonal Collection! These are nice for giving your dolls a professional look and can go with practically any style for mixing and matching. There’s this cute White Gathered Blouse for MSD and like sizes, as well as one for SDs and SD13 Girls in the same style, and then there is the White Princess-Line Blouse for SDs and the Standing Collar Shirt.

Yes, they’re all white, and very basic, but maybe basic isn’t much to your tastes! If you’re feeling adventurous, then you can certainly fix this with a little help from Komame!

Above are the Princess-Line Blouse and the Gathered Blouse. They’re quite stylish with a skirt, but with a little altering, some sewing and lace, you can create a whole new look!

Included in Komame’s Lil Custom LessonsVolume 2 and Volume 3 are some wonderful ideas and lessons for giving those plain blouses a little flair! Volume 2 shows you how to transform that Gathered Blouse into a lovely little camisole! There are also some other interesting techniques for giving these blouses and shirts a little fashion tweak! In Volume 3, you can give that Princess-Line blouse a Lolita touch with puffed sleeves and ribbon and lace!

Feeling creative? Why not try out these lessons today?
