Easy SD Ear Piercing!

Hello everyone! Sayuri and Dandy here to bring you another team tutorial! This time, we will show you how to pierce your SD’s ears. Ear piercing is a simple and great way to customize your SD, but requires caution. This technique is a bit risky, so only try it if you are comfortable doing so.

All you need to pierce your SD’s ears are these three items:

A Mineshima Pin Vice L5, a ZM Make Pen, and some earrings.

Step 1:

Use the Make Pen to mark where on the ear you want to pierce.

Step 2:

Next, attach the correct drill bit to the Pin Vice in accordance to the size of the earring’s post. If you are not sure about the size, then start with a small drill bit and move up in size if you need to. Once you have done that, you are then ready to begin drilling!

When you drill you want to hold the Pin Vice in a way that is comfortable for you and in a way that will allow you to drill with stability. When you are drilling you want to keep the Pin Vice as steady and straight as possible and avoid wiggling it from side to side.

To drill, gently rotate the Pin Vice continuously in a clockwise pattern while applying  light pressure onto the ear. As you drill make sure that the drill bit is piercing through to the other side of the ear and not into the side of your SD’s head; to avoid this, you may need to drill at an outward angle.

Once you have finished drilling, you should have a cleanly pierced ear like this:

And as you can see, Sayuri pierced both the earlobe and upper ear of her SD.

Step 3:

Lastly, attach the earrings.

As you can see, ear piercing is very simple but requires caution. Also note that like people, each SD’s ears are different and may not be suitable for piercing, so please check what kind of ears your SD has before deciding on piercing them.

‘Till next time~
