As mentioned in the title of this post, this issue brings you two new special lottery items! These brand new Dollfie Dream sized wigs are really amazing! These designs were first used for a “Tales of Genji” display at Tenshi-no-Sato and  are based on traditional Japanese hair styles! At last this unique look is available for your SDs too!

A Type “Taregami” $64.00

For a long period of time in ancient Japan,” Taregami” was the basic hair style. Rich, straight, long  black hair was the ultimate symbol of  beauty. The “Taregami” wig is the longest wig which we have ever offered, ending at about 83cm(33 inches)!

B Type “Binsogi Taregami” $64.00

When a young girl reached certain ages her father or older brother would perform the “Binsogi” ceremony, cutting shorter locks into her long hair. The shorter pieces of the “Binsogi” swing with her every movement, a gorgeous counterpoint.

One of the most romantic scenes in “Tales of Genji” is when Genji tells his young fiancée, Wakamurasaki, that he will perform this ceremony for her himself.

Hello, everyone!

I hope that everyone is having a great holiday season so far — for those who celebrate it, I hope that you had a very merry Christmas, indeed! We here at Volks USA are having lots of fun with all the holiday cheer, thanks in no small part to wonderful customers like J.S. of Honolulu, who sent us a package overflowing with delicious Hawaiian treats — thank you so very much, J.S.! He also enclosed a lovely holiday photo of his DD and SD girls, which we’ll be adding to our Customer Album. =^_^=

Setsuna (SDCB Toki) laying claim to part of J.S.'s gift -- he may soon have a fight on his hands for those macadamia-flavored Hershey's Kisses, though!

Meru (white MSD F-16) looks a bit too sleepy to really enjoy that Macadamia Popcorn Crunch -- wake up and have a shot of that Kona Coffee, Meru!

The holidays also brought a very welcome repeat visitor from Japan — as some of you may know, as part of Super Dollfie’s 10th Anniversary, Volks hosted an event (now over) called the Komame Stamp Rally, in which every Tenshi-No-Sumika (and Tenshi-No-Sato, of course) had a unique Komame stamp to give to customers to collect. Although the Stamp Rally only required customers to collect stamps from three different regions, many customers enjoyed the event so much that they collected many different Tenshi-No-Sumika stamps on the Stamp Rally Collection Sheet. In October of 2009, Volks USA was honored to host S.F., a customer who flew all the way from Japan in order to complete his Komame stamp collection — and just last week, he returned with gifts for Volks USA: lovely treats from Japan, and a copy of his completed Collection Sheet!

As you can see, we’ve framed the Collection Sheet, and it’s now in a place of honor in front of the register — come and check out all of the many different Komame stamps!

Finally, a gentle reminder — with the ending of 2009 also comes the ending of the FCS Special Campaign. You need to be at Step 3 in the process by 6:00 PST on Thursday, December 31 (if you can’t find your FCS Birth Certificate, please see this post). All Volks USA members who have taken FCS directly from us are eligible, so don’t miss out!

Are you excited about Christmas? We here at Volks USA sure are! And to celebrate this joyous occassion, all of the Volks USA staff will be out of the office on Thursday, December 24th and Friday, December 25th. We will be back in the office to open our Showroom this weekend, December 26th & 27th, so please stop by to shop or use the Christmas Photospace before it’s gone! Again, this weekend will be the last chance to use the Christmas Photospace.
