It’s time again for our new weekly feature, the HG Glass Eye Showcase!
As you can discern from the title of this post the featured color this time is Goldenrod.
Goldenrod is a popular color. It is a deep yellowish amber with black line detailing throughout. Although it is fairly realistic, it also has a touch of “other” about it and can be very vivid in person and in photos.
Here are my models for this time! Nana, Mark, Mimi13, and Myu. All of them are the Old Standard Versions.
We’ll start with the doll wearing the largest eyes and go to the smallest.
Mimi13 (Old Standard/Renewal) is wearing 20mm eyes which are positioned so that they sit almost completely forward. The color fills up almost her entire eye and her lids shadow most of the color, so it gives her eyes a deep, liquid look.
Next up is Nana (Old Standard/Renewal)! She is wearing 18mm eyes which are smaller than her defaults. Although she is wearing a smaller eye I also set them a bit more forward so that more of the iris shows. I wanted her look to be more mature, but not too mature for her sweet face.
Now Mark (Old Standard/Renewal)! Yes, Mark again. Do you mind? Mark is wearing 16mm eyes which once again are smaller than his defaults. I set his eyes up and to the side. It makes him look really intense, which I like, but if it is too intense for you then you can set them more forward or go back to an 18mm.
Lastly is Myu (Old Standard/Renewal)! This is the Myu that was assembled and painted in our MSD Assembly blog series. Why don’t you give it a look! She is wearing 14mm eyes, the smallest ones we offer in our lines meant for SD. They make her look really mature for a MSD and combined with her makeup I think they give her a thoughtful, soulful look.
I hope you enjoyed the Showcase this time! Please keep watching here every week for more features.
