˜ A Message To American SD Owners and All Doll Fans ˜
Thank you so very much for always providing such enthusiastic support of Volks and Super Dollfie.
All of our Volks staff members have been excitedly making preparations for the fourth Dolpa in N.Y. City, however it is with the deepest of regrets that I must inform you of circumstances that have recently occurred.
Right now there is a fear of a widespread contagion of influenza, a pandemic that has swooped down upon the entire world, and this situation has even reached as far as Japan, with 5 patients now known to be suffering from this new influenza.
A group of high school students from Osaka who stayed in Canada as exchange students have recently returned to Japan, and it has been confirmed that 5 of them have this new influenza virus.
As such, every day it has been reported on the television and in newspapers that the passengers who rode the same plane with those students, and the many tourists from America, are currently unable to leave their hotels while examinations and preventative measures are being taken.
Thankfully, there have not been any new patients appear out of the group currently confined to their hotels. However, whatever the case may be, it is certain that this entirely unpredictable situation will continue even here in Japan, in line with the worries and precautions of the insurance establishments all over the world.
When it comes to holding the fourth NY Dolpa, we had been working our hardest with a huge variety of ideas so that all of our American fans could enjoy it as a start to the 11th year of Super Dollfie. As such, these recent unforeseen circumstances are truly regretful. And yet, we have reached the conclusion that in this current state of affairs, it is simply not possible to hold the event.
We feel we simply cannot allow an SD event, with its aim to please and embolden everyone, to even by some vague chance instead become something that might cause harm to everyone's health. We truly hope that somehow you will be able to understand our way of thinking.
As a result, we are temporarily postponing N.Y. Dolpa, and at a time when this concern has passed and is behind us, we will once again hold the event.
Furthermore, the Super Dollfie Limited Edition models that we had been preparing for this coming N.Y. Dolpa will still be delivered to you as planned, via sales through FDQ magazine.
Further details will be announced on this website and the FDQ website at a later date.
Although it is truly a disappointment for every one of you who was so looking forward to N.Y. Dolpa, we truly and sincerely hope that we can receive your understanding and approval.
